Sports Day in Canada

Mark September 11-18th on your calendars; National Jersey Day is September 17th. Wear your favourite jersey to work, school and play. Sports Day in Canada is on Saturday September 18th. Go to www.cbc.ca/sports/sportsday/ for more details.


 

Try it Day in Walden

On September 12th from 12 - 3 p.m. come out to the Walden Cross Country Fitness Club in Naughton to try crosss country skiing for anyone young or old with a disability. Get introduced to sit skiing, ski walking and strength exercises to get ready for the snow. Contact Patti at 692-3818 if you would like to volunteer or participate. Sudbury Accessible Sports Council (SASC)

The vision of the SASC is to unite disability organizations across the city that provide sport and active living opportunities for people with physical disabilities, to share resources, collaborate in program planning and delivery, and create a stronger unified voice for athletes with a disability in Sudbury.

Good news for SportLink

It was announced at The Ontario Trillium Foundation press conference recently that SportLink will receive $130,000 over three years to increase the capacity in volunteers, help to develop a sport tourism strategy and raise awareness of sport groups in Greater Sudbury.

SportLink is looking forward to working with as many local sport groups as possible to improve our community; our door is always open.

Jeux de la Francophonie Games

July 20th, 2010 marked the launch of one year until the 5th Canadian Youth Francophone Games July 19-24, 2011. Arts, sports and leadership activities for 1,200 youth from across the country will take place here in Sudbury.
