Levels of Play: Recreational and Competitive Ages: All Ages Genders: Mixed Location: Delki Dozzi Track Times: Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 - 8:00pm The Sudbury Cycling Club (SCC) is a non-sponsored, non-profit cycling club that welcomes anyone interested in road cycling. Although competitive in nature, the SCC welcomes all to try their hand at road racing. They try to promote a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to train and race (during the spring/summer season and the fall). There are many different types of riders such as competitive, leisure, triathletes and general fitness. The club is registered with the OCA - Ontario Cycling Association. The OCA has a Road O-Cup series which includes 8 road races across Ontario. Included in this series are the Provincial Criterium Championship, the Provincial ITT Championship and the Provincial Road Race Championship. Battista Muredda, head coach and co-founder of the club over 30 years ago has coached many athletes including former Olympic cyclists Eric Wohlberg, Gary Trevisiol and David Spears. The Assistant Coaches of the club are Frank Battaion and Doug Marr. For those riders interested in riding at the competitive level, one of the coaches can set you up with a personal training plan. There are 3 club races during the season at the Delki Dozzi track (open to everyone, not just club members). We are always looking for volunteers to help out if racing is not your thing. During the winter time the club trains together once a week at the Delki Dozzi clubhouse on trainers and rollers, while the rest of the training is done at your own place.
