Keynote Speaker: Rob Faulds

Rob Faulds is currently employed by Rogers Sportsnet. He has performed several duties such as program anchor, play-by-play and sports reporter.  Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Rob studied at the University of Western Ontario and got his first job at CFPL radio in London, followed by stops in Sudbury, where he became the voice of the Sudbury Wolves for 4 years, Winnipeg, and Montreal, before joining CTV Sports in 1995. He has broadcast NHL hockey, junior hockey, major-league baseball, the NBA, the CFL and figure skating, among other sports.  He covered the Olympic Games in 1992 and 1994.  His career highlights include his first NHL play-by-play broadcast in 1985 and calling Mark Tewkesbury's gold-medal race in the 100-metre backstroke at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

Local Athlete Showcase:

Kendra Lilly

Born and Raised in Sudbury, Kendra has become one of the best junior curlers in all of Canada. Kendra is a two time Provincial Bantom Champion (2007, 2008), silver medalist at the Ontario Winter Games (2008), three time Northern Ontario Junior Womens Champion (2009-2011) and most recently won a bronze medal at the 2010 Junior Nationals. Kendra is also the current skip for the Laurentian University Varsity Womens Curling team where she is completing a four year Bachelor of Commerce Degree specializing in Sports Administration.

Aside from curling, Kendra is a premier all-round athlete. During high school, she competed at OFSAA for soccer, volleyball, tennis, track & field and of course curling, during which she won the Sudbury Highschool Athlete of the Year award in 2009.

Lucio Fabris

Lucio Fabris is a highly successful badminton player competing at dozens of competitions on the provincial, national and international stage. Lucio has won 20 Provincial Badminton Championships, 7 National Championships, has represented Canada at numerous international events including the prestigious Thomas Cup. In 1977 Lucio finished within the top 8 at the World Badminton Championships, and followed that up with a silver medal in team competition at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton. A career highlight for Lucio came in 1975 when he won the Badminton Triple Crown at the National Championships. Lucio became one of only three men to ever win the singles, doubles and mixed championships in one year.

Lucio is also a a pharmacist and owner of Med-I-Well services, a Sudbury-based Health and Wellness Consulting company. Lucio provides clinical pharmacy services to St. Joseph’s Villa (Long-Term Care) and Red Oaks (Seniors Residents Home) and Provide Clinical pharmacy services to City of Lakes Family Health Team and Sudbury and District Nurse Practitioners Clinics.

Lucio is happily married with 5 kids.

Master of Ceremonies: Stew Kernan

Growing up in Port Hope, Stew realized at an early age that reporting was his best way to stay involved in sports. He would take the 2-year radio broadcasting course at Loyalist College in Belleville graduating in 1984.

Upon graduation, Stew's radio career took him around Ontario as well as a stop in New Brunswick. He returned home in 1988 and became the Sports Director at CHUC Radio in Cobourg, where his hockey play-by-play career began.

Stew was lured to the North and became the Radio Voice of the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves in December 2002. Stew is currently the News Director with Rogers Sudbury Radio Group.
